T-Shirts
You
may have seen a few new t-shirts around that say
"First Methodist Church Grapevine." We
came up with these shirts as a way of identifying
our volunteers when they are working out in the
community. They were first used at the GCISD
Health Fair a couple of weekends ago and then
again this weekend at Main Street Days.
We
would like to offer the shirts to anyone who would
like to purchase one. The cost is $10 (for all
sizes S to 3XL) and proceeds will go to Missions.
We will take pre-paid orders through June 20, then
place the order. The shirts will be available for
pick-up by June 27. Place your order using the
Check-In in Sunday's bulletin and attach your
check.

Kenya
Needs
We have a mission team going to Kenya this
summer, departing on June 16. They will be carrying six suitcases of items to be used in their work. They are also collecting money for items that will be purchased in Kenya. We are looking for the following donations:
One
more large suitcase is needed. Ink
pens
Watches (These can be new or used. If you purchase a watch,
please purchase an inexpensive watch.)
Donations
to provide blankets. Please make a donation of
$5 for each blanket you wish to give. The blankets will be purchased in Kenya. Mark on your gift that the money goes to Kenyan
blankets.
Feed
Our Kids
We will be participating in the Feed Our Kids
program the week of July 12. There are some open dates and locations that GRACE is still trying to fill. Sunday school groups or others
are welcome to participate. Open dates are: July 5-9
at Regional Place Apartments; July 5, 6, 8 and August 16-20
at Shady Oaks Trailer Park on Scribner; spot days may be available at Kings Street.
If you would like to help, contact Deb Scheiwe at debscheiwe@verizon.net.
Project Read
Involvement in Feed Our Kids
Project Read has been invited to partner with the Feed Our Kids program this summer by providing books to the children in the community. Volunteers are needed to go to pre-determined sites on Tuesdays from 11:45
AM to 12:45 PM for all eleven weeks of the Feed Our Kids program (June
7-August 18) to hand out books and connect with the children.
You can choose as many weeks to serve that fit your summer schedule. This is a great opportunity for parents and children to work as a team to serve the Ministry Mile this summer.
For more information contact Joan O’Brien (jobrien2000@msn.com or 817-329-6649).
GRACE
Needs
For Transitional Housing: GRACE has need of a working
vehicle for a single, working student who will be a new resident in our GRACE transitional housing apartment. She will be graduating from
DBU with a degree in Psychology and needs replacement transportation for her vehicle which just died permanently.
GRACE also needs volunteers for the God Squad Team.
This group decorates, shops, does interior painting, moves
furniture, etc. to help ready apartments for new residents moving into
Transitional Housing. Six new move-ins will be taking place this summer, so scheduling is flexible.
Contact Deborah Lyons, Program Manager, at dylons@gracegrapevine.org
if you can help with either of these
needs.
For the Pantry: Bring your non-perishable food items for the GRACE pantry to the designated bins in the Sanctuary Foyer, Founders Chapel Atrium and outside the church
office. GRACE's needs right now are: Cooking Oil, Kid's Cereal, Diapers (size 5), Laundry Detergent, Canned Peaches, Canned Pineapple, Juice (orange, apple, etc.), Spaghetti and Sauce, Sugar
(4lb. bags).
Mission
Green Tip of the Week:
Why Attic Fans?
Solar Attic fans remove hot air from your attic. Attic fans save up to 30% on cooling costs by getting rid of trapped super hot air that tends to collect in attics and cause heat to back up into the home. Without the fan, the house gets hotter and hotter all day long and the A/C never stops. Solar attic fans use less than 300 watts, and offer these important advantages:
1. Lowers upstairs room temperatures by 10 degrees.
2. Lengthens roof life by keeping shingles cooler.
3. Saves up to 30% on air-conditioning costs.

Evening Precepts Bible Study Interest
We are considering an evening Precepts Bible Study class and looking to see who might be interested. The Precepts Inductive Bible Study method studies the text of
scripture first and refers to the work of others second. It takes you directly to the Bible as your primary source using a straightforward investigative approach. Individual time is spent observing Scripture to know what the Bible says, using principles of interpretation to understand what it means, culminating in personal application. Weekly homework is included in this study. It's a very rewarding experience! Contact Nancy Johnson at
pajnaj@verizon.net
or 817-424-0297 for more information or to indicate your interest in this class.
Day, time and location will be determined based on
the needs of those who express an interest.

Ten Reasons Parents (or anyone!) Should Teach
Summer Sunday School:
10.
Small people will hang on your every word.
9. Easy, low or no prep lessons.
8. Tasty snacks.
7. Fun music during BigTime, our large group session.
6. A nifty teacher nametag.
5. You get to meet your child’s church friends, who are way cool.
4. We supply all the training and materials you need to succeed.
3. Your child gets to see you in a role of spiritual leadership.
2. The teaching schedule is flexible. We welcome your help as many Sundays
as you can give.
And the number one reason...
1. God is giving you an opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child by pointing them towards Jesus Christ!
SOS is a teaching ministry that gives our School Year Teachers a break for the summer. Visit
our website to take a look at the curriculum you'll be
