on Wednesdays is getting rave reviews! "It's
nice to see people there who worship at a

one worshipper. WOW is "a comfortable time to slow down and reconnect mid-week and be refreshed in the
Spirit," says another. WOW is a fun, energizing mid-week
recharge! Join
us throughout the summer for Worship
on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary at the Heritage
Campus. There is a different speaker each
week and music is provided by a variety of

Read Needs Spanish Children's Books
Project Read is running very low on Spanish children's books. We are asking for donations to help replenish the supply in time for
our Feed Our Kids week starting July 12. If you could donate a few Spanish children's books it would be greatly appreciated.
Please leave all donations in the church office. Questions?

Fresh Fruit Offering
- July 11
Sunday, July 11, there will be a Fresh Fruit offering in support of Feed Our Kids. Please bring any type of Fresh Fruit and place it in the baskets on the table in the sanctuary foyer. The fruit will be used the following week as our church feeds 400 children a day during Feed Our Kids.
Feed Our Kids – July 12-16
It is time to get ready to Feed Our Kids! Our church will be serving lunches to 400 children every day the week of July 12-16 as part of the local Feed Our Kids program. Every week of the summer, Feed Our Kids provides lunch to over 400 children a day. These children are on free or reduced lunch during the school year.
There are opportunities to make and serve lunches, to donate food for those lunches, and to help coordinate. See
Check-In in this Sunday's bulletin to volunteer. A table will be set up outside the
sanctuary for donations this Sunday. Thanks for helping with this wonderful local mission. It could be the best week of your summer!

Popsicle
Party - July 14
On Wednesday, July 14, we'll be hosting a Popsicle
Party from 7:00 to 8:30 PM for our neighbors at the Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park on
Scribner! We are working to build community with the Grapevine Village,
so several of our ministry teams - Evangelism, Project PASS (tutoring), Hispanic Ministries,
Children and Youth Ministries, etc. - are teaming up for a fun family event with food, games,
music and more! As we take steps to transform one of the poorest parts of Grapevine, relationships matter.
Our hope is to continue to build goodwill, trust and an ongoing friendly presence at the Grapevine Village.
If you would like to help with planning, food, publicity, games or serving that night contact Donna Price at
adkins96@yahoo.com.
If you speak Spanish, it would be great for you to be with us!
GRACE
Transitional Housing Needs
We are partnering with GRACE's Transitional Housing
program as several apartments are being readied for single women to move into this summer and fall. If you find that you will have furnishings to donate that are in very good condition, please know that the God Squad, who readies these new homes for their clients, is always on the lookout for the following
items: coffee tables, end tables, lamps, area rugs, night stands, bed frames, good mattress sets in twin and double
sizes, comforters and sheet sets, art work, TVs with DVD players, working washers and dryers.
Their standards are high, using only the best they can as they make a new home for someone who has been without. We
also have need for more guys who can be available with their muscles and trucks or
trailers to pick up and deliver furniture. If you are interested in
donating or volunteering, please contact Bev Campisi at
beverlyc@fumcg.org.
You may read more about GRACE Transitional Housing at

Gifts, Thanks, Photos, etc.
July
4 Celebration
The Fellowship Committee would like to thank everyone who helped and participated in the Pot Luck on Sunday, July 4th. It was a wonderful time of great food and fellowship. We would like to add a special thanks to Rev. Rick and the First Church Guitars for the entertainment they provided and to the Iron Men (with Phil Chelf and Bill Karau coordinating)
for the wonderful meats they provided for our meal. We hope to see you all again at our next
event! Click
here for more photos.
Thanks
from Hispanic Ministries
Hispanic Ministries would like to thank the Roundtable Sunday
School class for donating English/Spanish Bibles to the Spanish
Worship Service. These Bibles will be placed in Founders Chapel pews and some will be given to families to take home.
Gracias! Also,
thank you to one of our families in First United Methodist Church. At their daughter's birthday party, they asked the guests to bring gift cards
so they could be donated to the Hispanic Ministry and for those who are in need. What a Blessing!
Bendiciones! Thanks
from GCISD
The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD's First Annual
Family Fun Walk and Health Fair was a great
success! The event would not have been possible
without your help. Thanks to your generosity, we
were able to share valuable information about
health and wellness to over 100 participants. We
truly appreciate all of the volunteer help from
your church community and the collection of
toothbrushes and tooth paste. I can't begin to
express how thankful we are for all the help that
Sandra Nasr (Parish Nurse) provided. Both Sandra
and the members of First United Methodist Church
were instrumental in making the event a success.
Thank you for your support and we hope that you
will continue to partner with us in our commitment
to help our students lead a healthier lifestyle.
~ Julie Lindley, RN - Director of Health Services
and PE - GCISD Blankets
of Hope Thanks
On June 3, Blankets Of Hope delivered another 70 prayer-covered blankets to Valley Hope substance abuse treatment center in Grapevine. Thank you to all the angels that participate in this ministry. It wouldn't be possible without all of you!
Here are a couple of notes of thanks from
recipients at Valley Hope:
"What a blessing you guys are! I can feel the prayers and comfort when I am wrapped up in my blanket. I was only 2 days into Valley Hope when you came. I was feeling very alone and homesick. The blanket cheered up my dorm room and was a real comfort for me. Thank you so much for all that you do. Know that it is working."
"Thank you so very much for your blanket ministry and your prayers for the addicted. I am comforted by the blanket I received, a lovely pastel with the word
'faith' all over it, with turquoise on the reverse. I am reminded of Hebrews 11:1 'Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.' I appreciate the embrace provided each day by this reminder."
